Minister Andrew Parsons, Minister of Industry, Energy and Technology, announced that Toqlukuti'k Wind and Hydrogen, aka ABO Wind, will move forward in their plans to develop wind-hydrogen project on the Isthmus of Avalon. The Department will issue a Wind Application Recommendation Letter that will trigger a series of steps by ABO towards the development of their wind/hydrogen project.
"This is exciting news for our region, this project will stimulate new technology developments, diversify the regions industrial base, create new jobs, offer local suppliers an opportunity to participate in procurement opportunities, and enhance existing operations at the Braya Renewables Plant at Come By Chance", said Andy Hennebury, Chairman of the ACA Chamber of Commerce.
The Chamber would like to extend sincere congratulations to the Toqlukuti'k Wind and Hydrogen, aka ABO Wind's senior leadership team on being chosen to move their project forward. Our Chamber of Commerce remains supportive of this project on and our business community is looking forward to participating in the development of this exciting project.
The Chairman also expressed disappointment that NARL Logistics project was not included in Minister Parson's announcement. The NARL Logistics project presents our region with a unique opportunity for the creation of a green energy hub that makes use of existing assets and resources to create significant opportunity for investment and economic development. The Chamber of Commerce encourages NARL Logistics to continue to pursue their plans to create a green energy hub in our region.
